This makes me think that we are going to make some moves in the draft….I don’t know why, but it was on 49erswebzone.

Come on Erickson, come back from vacation.

  4. jon seriously if i ran this team when errickson was around we would be soooo good right now but nolans good says:

David Harris is just as good as patrick Willis in a 3-4

willis is a reach at 11

harris in the second would be sweet

willis is faster with his 4.38, but harris ran a 4.5, and harris is a thicker player, much better at taking on blockers

willis played in the 4-3 at ole miss running behind his defensive line sideline to sideline not taking on guards head on like you have to in the 3-4, at michigan they play a combo of the 4-3 and the 3-4…carriker or Branch in the first, Harris or Merriwether in the second…and a reciever somewhere….we need to trade all those 4th round picks to move up there are so many talented players

merriwether is gonna be a star

    imagine
we trade our third, all our 4ths to get two more second rounders

    we get branch/carriker in first

we get Merriwether, Harris, and a reciever (syndey Rice?

    sooo good

  5. jerry says:

harris is a better run stuffer.

  6. Ninerfan81 says:

I get the feeling we all like Harris is we go after Carriker or Branch. The chances of us taking Carriker over Willis are increased because Nolan like kids from big schools. IE: Michigan, Miami, Florida, Nebraska, etc.

I like Willis alot but after Adam Carriker there’s not too many DE that are the perfect 3-4 fit with his size and speed. I mean a guy at nearly 300 lbs running a 4.18 20 yard shuttle is insane!!!

Young to grace cover of Madden ‘08
    By Terry McCormick,
    April 16, 2007

Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young will be on the cover of the EA Sports Madden 2008 video game.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed Young’s gracing the cover of the game to The City Paper. Efforts to reach EA Sports were unsuccessful on Monday.

An official announcement is expected on Tuesday and Young will appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” as part of the kickoff promotion for the newest version the popular NFL video game that is endorsed by NFL Hall of Fame coach and analyst John Madden.

Of course, appearing on the cover of the game has produced a “jinx” of sorts in recent seasons.

Several players, including former Titan Eddie George, have graced the cover, then succumbed to injury or ineffectiveness in the season they were on the game’s front.

George was on the cover during the 2001 season, the year he suffered through a toe injury. In 2000, George had rushed for a career-high 1,509 yards. Because of the injury, George managed just 939 yards in 2001 as the Titans slumped from 13-3 to 7-9.

Other prominent players to fall victim to the Madden Curse include quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Daunte Culpepper and last year’s cover man Shaun Alexander.
Young apparently will also appear in commercial spots for the game that will be aired during coverage of the NFL Draft.

I THOUGHT/N WANTED IT 2 BE IT WAS GON BE FRANK GORE..BUT I WAS WRONG..DAMN…

  9. Ryan the 1st says:

Let us not forget Jamal Anderson…..if he is still on the board we would be fools to take Carriker or Branch over him (notice I didn’t say Willis). This STILL could be a good move IF we acquired David Harris and that is looking REALLY IFFY with our second pick. Glad to hear Gore didn’t get the cover and the curse.

  10. Ryan the 1st says:

The thing that sucks is that we aren’t going to probably see ANY moves until next week. Everyone is waiting everyone out so no one has time to think and react to their moves.

  11. Ryan the 1st says:

Also, here is a list courtesy of sf49ers.com of who the niners are having to come visit them.

    Warriors face playoff TV woes

THE NBA PLAYOFFS are still a week away, and there’s still at least a 50-50 chance the Warriors won’t be involved, but it’s decision time nonetheless at FSN Bay Area.
    What if …

-The Warriors open the playoffs next Saturday night at Dallas, potentially conflicting with FSN’s telecast of the A’s-Rangers game? OK, that’s a no-brainer: The Warriors bump the A’s over to FSN Plus.

-But what if Game 1 is Sunday night, up against Game 6 of the Sharks-Predators series? Do the Warriors still get top billing? Do they get relegated to Plus? Or does FSN look at the costs involved and pull the plug on the Warriors altogether, letting ESPN or TNT deliver it exclusively to the Bay Area?

-An even tougher call would be if Game 2 were to fall on Tuesday the 24th, when the Sharks could be playing a Game 7 and the Giants are visiting the Dodgers on an “American Idol” night (meaning Channel 2 is off-limits).

Ted Griggs, FSN Bay Area’s new general manager, admitted Friday he’s not sure where his network’s priorities will lie. Suffice it to say, Bob Fitzgerald and Jim Barnett haven’t been mailed their plane tickets yet.

Is there something wrong with this picture (or lack thereof)?

A Warriors playoff game would dominate any Sharks postseason action in the ratings. And it would be flat-out embarrassing if the Warriors were trumped by an unwatchable Giants club.

Griggs assures all Warriors playoff games will be televised in the Bay Area. He’s just not fully

convinced FSN needs to foot the bill for the broadcasts when someone else (ESPN or TNT) is willing to do it.
Fortunately, a final decision hasn’t been made, so a potential mistake is easily correctable. I encourage all Bay Area sports fans to make their feelings heard beforehand, rather than complain about it afterward.

DATELINE: Between the lines. Speaking of TV schedules … when you look at the NFL’s list of national telecasts in 2007, it paints a pretty clear picture of what the decision-makers in New York think of the Bay Area teams and fans.

Take opening week, for example. I’m sure Tags and the boys got quite a chuckle out of scheduling the “Stupor Bowl” — 2006 doormats Detroit and Oakland — to kick off the season.

The unfunny part is: We don’t get to see one of the best games on the entire NFL schedule — Chicago at San Diego — because Fox will be forced to show us the Oakland game. Send the Raiders off on one of their NFC North road trips, and we don’t encounter that problem.

Meanwhile, much is made of the 49ERS getting four prime-time dates, but all four serve a purpose.

Don’t for a minute believe the 49ERS were “rewarded” with a coveted Monday-night spot on opening week. The fact is: Like last year, ESPN wanted two West Coast teams for the game that will kick off at 10:15 in the East, and the Arizona-San Francisco matchup was the only one that qualified.

The 49ERS return to ESPN on Nov. 12 at Seattle, but that’s only because that matchup could not be scheduled on Sunday afternoon because of a potential conflict with the Raiders. The same goes for the Bengals-49ers pairing on Dec. 15 that will be telecast by the NFL Network.

Lastly, there’s the 49ERS’ so-called return to the Big Stage when NBC has them slotted to host Tampa Bay on the night of Dec. 23. Don’t believe it.

That’s one of those “flex” games where NBC reserves the right to change matchups. With Brett Favre visiting Chicago and an Eagles-Saints playoff rematch that day … uh, I wouldn’t make afternoon plans, Niners fans.

Interestingly, the NFL has the Raiders playing at Jacksonville that day, leaving the afternoon slot open for the 49ERS.

    Now that’s good scheduling.
